2. Ariel Winter
During the second season of Modern Family, in which Ariel plays super smart middle daughter Alex Dunphy, the actor had traditional braces put on in real life. Fortunately, it fit right in with her character, and even helped Ariel herself embrace them! In an interview, she had this to say about her experience: “It’s cool to have glasses; it’s cool to have braces. I myself had braces, and I was kind of like, ‘Oh, mom, I have braces, I don’t like this,’ and then finally I was like, ‘You know what? The majority of young teenage girls in the world have braces. I’m gonna embrace them.'”
3. Jaden Smith
This karate kid lit up Tinseltown with his traditional braces when he was just 11 years old. And he’s not the only Smith who was shooting for a straight smile; sister Willow followed in her big brother’s footsteps and got her own set of traditional braces when she was 12.
4. Miley Cyrus
Miley may be known for her on-stage antics more than her pearly whites. However, there’s no denying she’s got a show-stopping smile, thanks in part to a brief stint in braces when she was 14 years old starring in Hannah Montana. Miley actually wishes she’d been able to wear them longer, explaining, “If I was me now, I would have been like, ‘Normal 14-year-olds have braces. I’m going to have braces on the show, so kids who have braces in real life know that’s okay.’”
5. Emma Watson
The Harry Potter star didn’t always have a magical set of teeth. While she only had her traditional braces on for 4 months when she was 14, the results surely helped shape the confidence she has today. She has said that she chose to wear them because a smile is for life. We always knew Hermione was clever!
6. Justin Bieber
The Biebs invested in Invisalign braces as a teen heartthrob, even posting a video showing them off. Because Invisalign are invisible, they’re a great choice for celebs and for the rest of us, too! 7. Kendall Jenner
Kendall is a cautionary tale – she had traditional metal braces at 13, but because she didn’t wear her retainer regularly, a couple of teeth went crooked after the braces came off. She opted to correct this with Invisalign at 16, since she was a bit more in the spotlight than she’d been before. All that extra work paid off in her current model-straight smile.
8. Kate Middleton
The Duchess of Cambridge looked pretty as a princess even before she married Prince William, and she has Invisalign to thank for that.
