Teen Bite Issues

There are a variety of bite issues that can be common among teenagers, and this can mean that Invisalign treatment for teens is often more complex than it is with adults. Some common teen bite issues include:

  • Gapped Teeth: When there are gaps between multiple teeth
  • Open Bite: When there’s a gap between the upper and lower teeth when the jaw is closed
  • Underbite: When the bottom teeth overlap the top teeth significantly when the jaw is closed
  • Overbite: When the top teeth overlap the bottom teeth significantly when the jaw is closed
  • Crowded Teeth: When teeth are crooked because they’re too crowded (not enough space)
  • Crossbite: When one or more upper teeth on one side are overlapped by the lower teeth when biting down

All of these bite issues can be addressed with Invisalign treatment. The approach is customized for each patient because each teen’s bite issues are unique. Dr. Webb will design a treatment plan using 3D computer imaging, which allows you to see the projected outcome of the treatment even before it begins.

Spend Less Time at the Orthodontist

Invisalign Teen appointments require less time at the orthodontist than traditional braces do. Check-ups aren’t needed as often as traditional braces. During this quick visit, Dr. Webb will check on teeth alignment to make sure that progress is on track. Because there are no wire or bracket adjustments, the whole process is quicker and easier.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I get the same results with Invisalign as I can with braces?

Yes you can, Invisalign, much like braces, applies light pressure to the teeth to move them to an ideal position.  Invisalign can deliver the same result as braces in the vast majority of cases.

  • What are the primary benefits?

Invisalign is so popular today because of several main benefits, including:

      • The aligners are clear and very discreet
      • Invisalign is comfortable, as it's custom-made for your bite
      • Invisalign is affordable — about the same cost as traditional metal braces
      • You'll spend less time at the orthodontist for check-ups with Invisalign
  • Is Invisalign more expensive than Braces?

Not at our office! Although our braces and Invisalign fee may not always be the same, generally the fee is very comparable. Come in for a consultation and Dr. Webb will discuss which option would be best for you.

  • Does Invisalign hurt?

Although Invisalign may make your teeth mildly sore (similar to braces), there will be very little discomfort involved. The Invisalign trays are very comfortable and can be taken out to eat, drink, brush, and floss.

  • How long does Invisalign take and how much does it cost?

While every case is different, at our office the average length of treatment for our Invisalign patients is 12-18 months. We will be able to give you an estimated treatment time at your complimentary consultation. Invisalign is very affordable at our office and is similar to the cost of braces.

  • Who is eligible for Invisalign Teen?

Invisalign teen is suited for patients aged 12-18 years old. Invisalign teen includes replacement Invisalign trays (in case of losing a tray) and treatment indicator to confirm that the patient is wearing the tray as indicated.
